They are an ancient tribe, a bloodline reduced today to only a few notable clans of dwarves and half-dwarves speculated to be related to an even older but extinct race of winged giants, the Gyr. Chronicles dating back to stone tablature readily documents the ability of the Gyr, skin of shale, eyes of striking topaz, to manipulate earths as potent geomancers. Their descendants share fleeting marks of these powers. Some can shift the ground under entire cities.
