Each year, deep into the weald, beyond the spore sprites' tittering curses and the snapping clench-vines, a markedly unlucky explorer will be met at foot with a curious, faintly glowing line of pink creepers.
Emitting sparkling waves of bright violet glitter, the vines will improvise a red carpet for any willing adventurer. The wriggling appendages, stocked with rows of mind-numbing spores, lead an unkempt trail lower and lower.
In moments, an unlucky explorer becomes a demised soul, unknowing of the odious fiends and perilous traps biting already at the boot.
